This is the trailer for 28 days later. I decieded to choose this particular one as I thought that it encompasses the shock and gore that the film contains and also the sense of one person seemingly alone in a large city.

Trailers must be clear to their audience so that they capture their attention and interest in the film. The trailer for 28 days later clearly presents itself as a horror, this can be seen through its use of visual effects such as the blood and the use of zombie characters. The fast paced editing reflects the suspense created during the film, and throughout the trailer there is a mystery theme, the audience is not really sure what is happening. The trailer helps to build up a good picture of the film, the way it has been filmed helps to create a sense of panic and an end of the world scenario. The parts picked out are aspects of the film that will relate and appeal to it's target audience, those who enjoy horrors often like the thrills involved and one of the final scenes when the zombie appears in the window is sure to delight them.

The name of the movie is clearly stated at the end of the trailer, however there are also a few clue earlier on, as the caption '28 days later.....' appears on screen. The production values seem to be fairly low, more emphasis has been placed on the make up rather than special effects, and the actors seem to be low budget British actors.

The music used towards the end of the film is slightly religious, this implies that there is an element of supernatural involved or perhaps the characters give up, however this then moves onto a more rocky uptempo beat which perhaps suggests that they perhaps fight back against the zombies. Sound effects such as warning sirens connote the urgency involved, and the screams suggest death.
